Optus has just suffered one of the largest cyberattacks in Australian history. Up to 9 million customers have had their contact details exposed to hackers. Details include names, dates of birth, email, addresses and driver’s licence numbers.
IBM research puts the average cost of a data breach at USD$4.35M (over AUD$6.5M).
